Semmelweis Innovations invites you to its open day of Postgraduate bioentrepreneurship training
In this new World after the recession entrepreneurship is the key to success. Yet we have a serious shortage of capable entrepreneurs in the life sciences sector. Those of who devote a decade of learning genes, proteins, anatomy and molecular biology lack the skills of how to exploit the knowledge they create. And those who crunch numbers in banks and finance departments can hardly recognize an amino acid when they see one. This postgraduate school is designed to bring together these professionals and roll them into small teams which will be able to launch a successful life science enterprise.
This course is postgraduate in the sense that students are already working as PhD students, postdocs or business fellows. International in the sense that the life science sector is global and so should be your team of teachers and students alike. And practical in the sense that each element of the course deals with real businesses, not textbooks and case studies. In the end, students will have the skills, contacts, knowledge and even a team to launch their own enterprise.
The program is supported by national and EU grants which allows Semmelweis Innovations to offer 6 full scholarships for students from abroad. The students are required to participate in all 3 training weeks and actively work on projects in between courses. The case studies will be real scientific development projects selected from the technology transfer portfolio of Semmelweis Innovations. Optional courses such as intellectual property management, winning strategies in grant writing, negotiation skill, etc. are also offered.
